MAINTENANCE |
SNAP-TRAP INSPECTION
| Disconnect electric to machine. | |
| Open guard door. | |
| Remove wheel nut. | |
| Remove outer wheel flange. | |
| Remove wheel. | |
| Remove old shear pin. | |
| Inspect Snap-Trap for damage - cracked and/or broken welds - repair as necessary. | |
| Check Snap-Trap for ease of rotation by slightly lifting the guard and sliding the guard down to the closed position - repair as necessary. | |
| Check Snap-Trap for excessive wear at gage point - repair as necessary. | |
| Rotate Snap-Trap guard back to its original position. | |
| Install new Shear Pin (1/4" dia soft brass approximately
1-3/8" long) by tapping in with a hammer from the outside of the wheel
guard. Be sure the Shear Pin goes through both the Wheel Guard and the
hole in the Self-Closing Guard.

| Check Set Screw.
See Drawing R060025 for set screw location. See Manual for adjustment instructions. |

| Close and lock guard door.
DO NOT MOUNT GRINDING WHEEL, OUTER WHEEL FLANGE OR WHEEL NUT. |

| Turn on electric to machine. | |
| Start machine. | |
| Using a tachometer check spindle RPM with the head in
the 30" wheel diameter position.

If spindle speed is incorrect, install new drive parts

| The frequency of this maintenance depends on the grinding operations being performed. Once a year is a reasonable time frame. However, depending on your operation, it may have to be done more often. |
